The national Human Rights Commission has called on all parties to the violence in the Tarai districts to find a political solution.

The National Human Rights Commission of Nepal has urged the protesters, political parties and others to call off planned protests in the Tarai districts and come together for talks.

In a statement, the Commission called on all parties to find a political solution to the ongoing protests and violence.

It also urged the government to reconsider deployment of security forces in the field and to initiate dialogue with protesters to find an amicable solution.

The Commission's Chairperson, Anup Raj Sharma, also requested the government to investigate into the killings of 11 individuals in Mahottari Dhanusha and Saptari districts.

In its statement, the Commission also condemned the killing of Armed Police Force's Assistant Sub-Inspector Thaman Bahadur BK by the protesters. BK, who was being taken to hospital, was dragged out of the ambulance and beaten to death.
