NIHR to monitor ban on afternoon outdoor work

The NIHR President has called on employers to respect the law, protect the rights of workers and ensure a fair and decent work environment.

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has called on people to report violations resulting from the employment of workers who are required to work outdoor in the afternoon in in exposed places from 12 noon to 4 pm during July and August, in violation of the Minister of Labor and Social Development's Resolution No. (3) of 2013.

Everyone can monitor such violations, determine their location and time, and publish them on social networks using the hashtag #guarantee your right, the NIHR said in a statement.

Reports can also be shared through WhatsApp or reported through the NIHR's toll-free hotline.

Ms. Maria Khouri, President of the NIHR, called on employers to respect the law, protect the rights of workers, ensure a decent work environment and provide the necessary measures to adopt the Resolution, in accordance with international standards,

She praised the Minister of Labor's Resolution No. (3) of 2013, which she described as an indicator reflecting a culture of human rights, in general, and workers' rights, in particular.

This NIHR initiative aims to strengthen community culture to support workers' rights and the Government's efforts to address violations.
