The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) of Qatar, in collaboration with representatives from its expatriate offices, has launched an awareness campaign for foreign workers, including workers in recruiting companies and domestic workers.

The campaign has included field visits to expatriate workers in the Industrial Area, Umm Salal, Al Wakrah, Al Duhail, and Al Thumama, with other areas to be visited shortly.

The campaign distributes brochures and educational material in different languages on the measures to be followed to prevent the risk of COVID-19 infection and transmission.

In addition, the campaign promotes the NHRC's 24-hour hotline where workers can make complaints of rights violations, especially those they may be have experienced due to COVID-19.

Representatives from Nepali, Indian, African, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi communities have been involved in the awareness campaign to ensure that workers have someone they can communicate with in their language.
