APF Chairperson statement on Israeli airstrikes on Doha, Qatar

The Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) condemns in the strongest possible terms the Israeli airstrikes on Doha, Qatar.

This act of aggression is a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and a breach of international law. It recklessly endangers civilian lives, human rights, and risks further escalation and violence.

All parties must work towards achieving a permanent ceasefire, the return of the hostages, the immediate provision of sufficient aid in Gaza and the establishment of a two-state solution to ensure a lasting peace rather than continuing war. These airstrikes in Doha work against all of these objectives.

The APF calls on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its aggression.
