Online induction program available to new NHRI staff

The APF will facilitate a four-week online induction program for newly appointed staff of its members institutions to strengthen their understanding of human rights principles and the role, function and mandate of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs).

The program, which will run from 15 April to 10 May 2024, will also cover international human rights mechanisms, the Paris Principles, gender equality and NHRI strategies for addressing various human rights challenges.

The program will feature self-paced online learning and interactive components delivered via the APF Community. Additionally, three live discussion sessions will be held to facilitate experience sharing. Interaction among participants and facilitators will continue through the APF Community online forum.

Participation is free for APF members. NHRIs are encouraged to nominate up to five staff members for the program, particularly newly appointed staff, including those with less than one year of service. However, nominations for longer-serving staff seeking to enhance their knowledge of NHRIs and the Paris Principles are also welcomed.
