The role of the APF Governance Committee is to consider and make recommendations to the General Assembly on a range of issues.

The APF Governance Committee is elected by Forum Councillors. All representatives on the Governance Committee serve a term of two years.

Forum Councillors also elect a Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson to lead the Governance Committee.

The Chairperson of the Governance Committee automatically serves as APF Chairperson for the two-year period.

Likewise, the Deputy Chairperson of the Governance Committee automatically serves as APF Deputy Chairperson.

As far as possible, membership of the APF Governance Committee aims to reflect our regional diversity and promote gender equality.

The inaugural APF Governance Committee was elected at the APF's 23rd Annual Meeting, held in Hong Kong in September 2018.
